Praise Among the Nations

This verse is often interpreted as referring to heaven. However, some commentators say that this is talking about salvation (Thomas Constable, Plano Bible Chapel). If we stop and think about the fact that we do not deserve to be saved, we can see why Paul wrote that we cannot imagine this gift.
I pray as we head into the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays that you take time to look into the depths of this concept. You won’t be able to go very far. That will take all eternity. I still think it is worth starting now. Waiting to look into God’s goodness only results in lost time.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for allowing us to have salvation even though we cannot fully comprehend it. Please help us to study what You have told us and share that with others.
I pray this in Jesus’ name.
God is so good.

I love the promise in Hebrews 4:16. This passage talks about the bold confidence we can have to seek help from our Heavenly Father. Verse 15 gives some insight into why we can be bold. Jesus came to earth to live the life of a man – a man with weaknesses. Jesus understands the ways we are tempted. While He didn’t sin, He still has compassion for our struggle with sin.
So no matter what you are facing today, go boldly to the throne of grace. Your Heavenly Father is waiting with open arms to help you with whatever you need.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being available and understanding of our weaknesses. Please help us to remember to approach Your throne to receive grace and mercy in our time of need.
I pray this in Jesus’ name.
God is so good.

The Bible tells us of the many battles that Joshua fought. His battles were against a literal enemy with physical weapons. Most of us face different kinds of battles. Battles of varied degrees of difficulty. No matter the battle you are facing today, God has told us several times in the Bible that we can be courageous. The reason we can be courageous – is that God is with us. Those of us who have trusted in Jesus to save us from our sin have the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He helps us with the many problems we find in our lives. I am so thankful God has provided help for the battles I will face.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the many ways You help us to be strong and courageous. Please help us to remember that You are willing to give strength as we come to You for help.
I pray this in Jesus’ name.
God is so good.

Life is filled with difficulties and challenges. We can get lost in sorrow and worry. However, God has provided a “living hope” for those who have trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation. Some of that hope is our eternal future. 1 Peter 1:4 talks about the beauty of our eternal reward. Verse 5 comes back to telling us about the here and now. It says, “By God’s power are being guarded through faith.” Ephesians 6 tells us to pick up the shield of faith. This verse talks about God’s power guarding us through faith.
No matter what we are facing, God is working. His power is protecting us for a wonderful future that will last for all eternity. Praise the Lord!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the living hope for a wonderful eternal future. Please help us to cling to the protection You have provided as we walk the challenges of life.
I pray this in Jesus’ name.
God is so good.
