Never Stopping

God’s faithfulness is my favorite character trait. Some days I have to push myself to go through whatever might be coming. God is not like that. His steadfast love does not waver – for any reason. I am so thankful God’s mercies are readily available. God’s faithfulness warms my heart and gives me strength to carry on.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your steadfast love. Thank You for being faithful through my unsteady faith. Please send me daily reminders and help me to encourage others with those same things.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

God’s Direction

Our emotions can direct our thinking all too often. I am thankful God is able to direct my heart to His way which includes a resolve to obey Christ. That resolve is a firm foundation that I cannot make. I need to receive that from my loving Heavenly Father, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for directing our hearts toward You. Please help us to cling to You and remember You hold us tight.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

Worthy of the Gospel

We live in an age where everyone is considered “worthy”. Webster’s dictionary defines worthy as “having worth or value”. We all want to be valuable. In Philippians 1:27, we are told to walk worthy of the gospel. The second part of the verse tells us how to be worthy. We need to stand firm in unity for the sake of the gospel. Everything in our lives need to point back to the good news of Jesus Christ.

I wonder if we would have more value if more of our lives were lived for the sake of the gospel.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the instructions You give in Your word. Please help us to live unified for the sake of the gospel. We need You to guide us.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

How We Love

Last week I wrote about John 15:12 which tells us to love as Jesus loved. 1 John 4:19 tells us more about how we love. We love because God loved us first. There is no way that I can love others in my own ability. I am more likely to put myself first. We need the reminder that God loving us is the only way we can love others.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so we could love others. Please help us to remember that You are the only way we can love.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

Giving Incomprehensible Love

This verse is a bit daunting to me. Trying to love as God loves is a tall order. I am glad that God tells us how. John 15 tells me that I need to abide in God to be able to obey His commands. I know God’s Word is powerful, but I am still often amazed at what God gives.

I pray you have a love for God’s Word and the desire to read and study as much as possible. We cannot obey God’s commands without consistently abiding in Him.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the Bible. Thank You for the guidance from Your words to us. Please help us to remember that we can’t love others appropriately without abiding in You.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

Strength and Power

I don’t know about you, but I get tired. Life’s challenges can seem to pile up. As a child of God, I have the ministry of the Holy Spirit. I think we struggle understanding what this ministry is. The supernatural cannot be fully explained. I know that I can learn more about this power through studying God’s Word and praying. God will guide and show me what I need to know. If you wonder about this verse – go read Ephesians 3. It is a wonderful passage with much Biblical truth.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the power You give through the Holy Spirit. Please guide me to learning more about what that means. Please help me to be patient and trust You through this process.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.
