Praise at Christmas

The Bible gives many verses of praise to God.  I appreciate the ones in the Christmas story.  When Jesus was born as a human baby, there was much joy.  In Luke 2:14, we hear what the angels said in praise to God.

The Bible tells us that if we do not praise God, even the “stones will cry out” (Luke 19:40).  However, in this case God sent angels.  I want to include my voice with the angels.

Glory to God!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of the angels praising You.  I want to praise and thank You for Who You are and all You have done.  Glory!

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

Thankful 3 Times in a Row

I found Colossians 3:15-17 interesting as I was looking for verses about thankfulness – three verses in a row with a form of the word thankful.  The word in verses 15 and 17 is the word for gratitude.  Thankfulness in verse 16 is the word charis – grace.  I think gratitude is graceful.  A heart attitude of thankfulness will show outwardly as grace.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the many blessings you send.  Please help me to cultivate a heart of gratitude and show grace in my life.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

Wholehearted Thankfulness

The longer I live, the more I appreciate intentional praise or thanksgiving. As in previous years, I will take this next week to post Bible verses that show praise or thanksgivng to God. If you would like to participate, please share your favorite praise or thankfulness Bible verse in the comments below.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for all the wonderful things You have done. I praise You with my whole heart!

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

The Wisdom of Praise

I have noticed how easy it is to complain. I think that has always been an issue, but it has been even more prevalent in the last two and half years. I know I should thank and praise the Lord more than I do, but sometimes it feels awkward. I want to work on changing that.

There is great wisdom in praising and thanking God. He has given so many good gifts. If you don’t know what they are, read the Bible.

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You for Who You are and the many wonderful things You have done. Thank You for the gift of salvation, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and Your Word that gives so much insight for life.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

Thanks Christmas

2 Corinthians 9:15 might be considered a Thanksgiving verse, but I had this color page from a Christmas book.  Since Jesus came to die to provide salvation from sins, His birth is the ultimate gift.

Merry Christmas!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing gift of Jesus Christ.  I praise Your name!

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good!
