Life is not about you or me. It is about Jesus Christ. He suffered for us. He gave His life. He is worthy of our worship and praise.
And friend, He has your best interest in mind.
Yesterday we had the first snow of the season. For those of us who do not like wintery weather there is some trepidation. However, despite my dislike of the cold I enjoy the beauty of snow. God is so creative to think up a different design for every snowflake. I enjoyed the beautiful designs that plastered me on my way into work. I did not enjoy the wet wind, but I saw several individual snowflakes. They were beautiful. God is an amazing designer and He gives me frequent opportunities to enjoy His creation.
God is so good.
I thoroughly enjoyed taking sunset and cloud pictures this summer. God has blessed me with some amazing shots. My favorite evening was this one – the sun rays were fabulous.
Clouds and sunsets show the beauty and creativeness of God. He is a phenomenal artist and He wants to share it with us! God is so good.
Anyone who has seen my Instragram and Facebook accounts knows how much I love sunset pictures. Tonight brought a beautiful sunset, but I wasn’t able to get pictures at my favorite spot. I wanted to catch some of the beautiful color so I decided to take pictures near my home.
I love the life lessons God sends my way through my enjoyment of photography and less than ideal settings. Life has beautiful moments. I often wish for more beauty, but the mundane fills more of life. I am learning that there can be beauty along with the mundane. The houses in my neighborhood are fairly ordinary. However, when the sun is setting the ordinary houses shine. God’s beauty is never far away.
We have seen many difficulties in recent days. Situations such as the shooting in Las Vegas last week, nuclear threats, religious persecution, health struggles and let’s face it – our own selfishness can take us down a path of darkness. However, there is a light that shines bright when we choose to see. The light is Jesus Christ. When we allow God to permeate our lives, we have a light that can penetrate any darkness. So before you get too focused on the dark parts of life, focus on the light of Christ. He will take you through the dark and give light for the way.
I want to start by saying that this is no more true than, “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.” But like the saying about the grass it is a thought we believe.
I came up with this saying after hearing jealous statements about my “naturally curly” hair. I have to admit when all the right factors fall into place, I like the curls. However, it usually takes more work than some think. My usual weekday morning routine includes brushing my hair into a ponytail – the easiest option. Some days it is the only option. Naturally curly hair does NOT guarantee pretty curls. I do not wake up with pretty hair (I mean seriously?). It takes effort to make my thick mop presentable.
I believe we have mixed up thinking inside our heads about what grows on the outside of our heads. So before you think that someone else has better hair (or a better life), remember that the hair is NOT really prettier on the other girls head. God gave you the hair (life) He knows you should have. God never makes mistakes.
I have found an interesting lesson from using herbs. Many times herbs are chopped or ripped in order to release the flavor. How true is this in real life? The sweet flavor of Godly character is developed through trials. I usually feel torn through those times.
So when you feel the pain of being torn by trials, know that God is preparing something wonderful.
