Humility and Exaltation

Humbling ourselves is not an easy thing to do. We have to realize our self importance isn’t really that important. However, when we do humble ourselves, God tells us the He will exalt us – at the proper time. Sounds like waiting to me. God doesn’t promise to give us what we want, when we want it. God promises to help us with our cares. Because He cares. That is a powerful message.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the advice You give in Your Word. Thank You for the joys You have planned for our future. Please help us as we wait. I praise You for Your care.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.

Comforting

I am so thankful for the comfort God provides through our trials. This doesn’t mean that we will always have warm fuzzies and happy emotions. However, God knows how to provide Bible verses, hugs from friends, and many other joys that bring comfort.

One reason for the comfort is to pass that along to others. We know from experience how precious it is to receive comfort. What could be better than give the same to others?

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the comfort you provide. Please give us the strength and joy to pass that comfort to others.

I pray this in Jesus’ name.

God is so good.
